Getting a dog?
Hello! It's been ages since I last posted, due to an overseas move into a new house. Anyhow the area and house we are now in makes it possible for me to get a dog, which I have been wanting to do for a long time. I know quite a few of you have or have owned dogs, so I hoped you'd be able to answer s...

Re: Job Description
Couldn't have put it better myself. I would also add the protection and conservation of Earth and her now few truly wild areas. As metaphorical as they are, there are still many 'Dark Lords' out there who would seek to exploit these areas and their populations (as well as in other aspects of life), ...

Re: Shoulder vs Hip Quiver
I made my quiver so that I can use it in both positions, depending on circumstances. I find arrows tend to spill much less when using an arrow bag inside the quiver, too. I think I remember that Andy (the guy who set up the original site) used some type of foam?? or something like that that he could...

I actually tried using a solid door knob once, and with a bit of shaping it was actually not bad!

Re: Idle musing
You sound like a worthy person for such a challenge! Would someone care to clarify the distance of the trail? Doing it in period gear will surely be a first, right? Unless one of the thousands of Civil War enthusiasts has done it. Footwear: historically people covered this distance on foot, so it mu...

Re: the blacksmith I work with...
Peter, it's not a traditional outfit of the culture, though I think his intention was for it to be slightly Roman-esque. From the bits I can understand, only speaking some of the language, he is just saying what they are, and how they are different from what most people wear. Also that if he is forg...

the blacksmith I work with...
Greetings rangers! I've just finished helping with a website + video for a blacksmith here in Tunisia. I've been working with him for almost a couple of years now (he has been at it for 35), and its been a great pleasure, he's such a nice guy (people find it strange an intriguing that an Englishman ...

Really looking forward to see what things you come up with. I recently said up a forge in the yard, but am no where near making knives.
So far I can only make very basic tools and shapes :/

Re: Whats your program for ranger fitness?
I took 5 years of fencing and then had been doing Jujitsu for the past year and a half, also Ultimate Frisbee since about 2 years. Currently I am following a programme on the British Army website for people thinking about joining a regiment and who need to prepare. Works really really well and is a ...

I have beeswax so will definitely try that. I'm thinking of just making a brand new one, in the style that Gondian has done hhis together with a bracer.
