Re: Sodhopper style boots pattern!
Wow those realy look gret man! fantastic job! As far as the sole goes, just sew another peice of leather on the bottom and when it shows wear replace it, that way you dont have to remove the original stitching and the shape of your boot and you can still have that "next to barefoot experience ...

Re: Sodhopper style boots pattern!
Ernildir. I'm curious if you have put the soles on these yet? The boots turned out great. Would love to see more pics of your boots. -How did you fare with that tutorial? I found it to be quite frustrating and vague. I let the leather guide me in the end. I finally got around to taking a better pic...

Re: Russ pants for the "Southern Ranger"
Just finished up my pair last night. Thank you so much for the pattern and instructions, Ringulf and Brandwyn! I made mine rather less baggy than the pattern suggests, but they're just baggy enough to stand out from more ordinary-looking pants. I like it. I took some pictures, but the ligh...

Re: Medieval Taylor's Assistant: Making Common Garments
My local in-town leather shop has sheepskin with the wool still on for pretty dirt cheap prices. Eric, if you find yourself with a color in mind (white, cream, brown, grey, etc.), I'll be San Diego in two weeks for my sister's wedding, and could send a hide for you home with my dad that you could a...

Re: Medieval Taylor's Assistant: Making Common Garments
Thank you for sharing this wealth of information! I will certainly be trying one of the undershirts for my next project. Those mittens also look very interesting, though I don't think I have a suitable material that would allow them to perform as well as they should. The instructions seem to suggest...

Re: Kombucha Culture Projects
Or I suppose what you could do to ensure the dryness of your food is form an open container from the culture, allow it to dry, then insert your dried goods and seal the container by drying another piece of culture on top. Though it's rather a lot of trouble when we could just have our food in a leat...
