I make my bow strings out of linen cord that I buy at either Walmart or Michael's depending on where I happen to be. I have never used hemp but I have seen it at both places.

As has been mentioned, it was always my understanding that the surcoat/surcote originated during the crusades as a means of keeping armor cool.

Nice work. Not really my style, but an obvious show of skill on his part. I never really liked that the heron mark sword was a single-bladed deal. Brendan has mentioned over on SBG that it is dual edged. The back edge is a sharp edge. But Heron mark swords could be any type sword technically. They ...

Scott is right Andy's was the Paul Chen seax. I picked one up years ago due to what Andy had done to his, I'm pretty sure it's still kicking around here somewhere.

I like the Dao as a sword but as far as Tolkien was concerned the Elves did not use curved swords the orcs did, PJ and company got that completely wrong.

Diane is an MD and around the time she stopped posting she moved to the Northwest and as I recall sold off her Atrim 1562 ? She had it named Sturmsomethingor other.
