Re: Archery Instructor-Master Fletcher-Boyer-Ask Me Anything

Haha! Well Met, and well said Odigan! I'm sorry that you took my passion, love and most of all, concern for other peoples safety for this great human past time as arrogance. But everyone is entitled to their opinion, after all, it is the Internet! =D. As to the point about bow poundage, as an instru...

Re: bows

Hey RikJohnson! My horse bow is a Toth Mongolian from http://www.thelongbowshop.com/categories/Bows/Horsebows I love it. Its a great bow and as much as I love my longbows the idea of having this strapped to my quiver roaming through the woods as it begins to snow is quite appealing. I normally shot ...

Re: A tested Archers Hard Kit

Well Met Urthgard! I'd be more than happy to expand on it! I'll try and keep it short :P Back in the olden days when you had hemp and muscle fiber bow strings, you'd use beeswax to help keep the individual strands together. Not only to help prevent fraying, but also to prevent undue wear on your arr...

Re: A tested Archers Hard Kit

Thanks Frothgar!

I completely agree, the basics rarely change, despite being tested by time. I seem to enjoy the micro kit posts as well. I've looked through a couple of them and have gotten some great ideas!

A tested Archers Hard Kit

Hey Rangers! I have a long way to go (and a lot to learn) to making a complete Hard Kit, but I do have a very thoroughly tested smaller chunk of a hard kit. Here is the kit expanded: https://s3.amazonaws.com/archery_vids/Archery+Photos/FullSizeRender.jpg Working from the top left: -Bracer -Beeswax C...

Arrow Designs and Fletchings (Pic Heavy)

Hello Rangers! I thought I'd post some pics of some of the recent fletching work I've done. Most of these are pretty simple designs for friends/family or other customers. I'll post some of the more complicated stuff as soon as I get around to taking some photos of them. Enjoy! Simple Red and White c...

Re: Archery Practices and Fun-Shoots

Hey Manveruon! We have a couple of archery drills/fun shoots that we do besides the 3D foam targets (deer, turkey). -Hanging Apple from a string, still or swining (swinging is more fun, but way more frustrating) -"Squirrel Shoot", hand towels rolled and secured with a rubberband and then s...

Re: Archery Instructor-Master Fletcher-Boyer-Ask Me Anything

Strongbow - A pleasure to meet you! I'm always happy to have a contextual conversation about Archery. Reading through both Greg's and yours responses I wanted to weigh in. It is important to note that I have by no means looked through all the archery posts here and above all things I do not want to ...

Re: Archery Instructor-Master Fletcher-Boyer-Ask Me Anything

Sorry Greg, I didn't read your post all the way through =P Great questions. I've been a fan of the LoTR universe for some time. I've always loved the idea of a completely self sufficient lifestyle (although I live far from that life style in my current job as an engineer). Talking the talk has never...
