If they are carbon shafts you can always go a bit lighter on point weight to stiffen up the dynamic spine of the arrow... Especially if the limbs are only slightly heavier....

Ok here are the follow up pictures!!! Finished it today! Tempered in the oven at 400 for about an hour and a half then left in oven till cooled completely. Came out a nice straw color like it should... The polished to 1200 grit and etched, glued up the scales and pins and lanyard bushing http://i148...

Is your whole group in your area? Sounds like a good number of you are local to each other. Nice work! Let's see... Most of our little group met through ALEP.... We have 5 here in Ohio,3 or 4 in Kentucky, 2 in Virginia, and one all the way from Canada!! Thanks!!! Polished so far today to 1200 grit....

Handle will be some cherry wood I think. One of our groups rangers works in a cabinetry shop and brings scraps of stuff. I have some walnut cutoffs but they are not wide enough and some cutoffs of what looks to be cherry.... It's a really pretty red wood with straight grains... So I am going to use ...

That's not a hateful idea at all!
But I am sorta leaning towards either a solid wrap laced on.... Or dusting off my old whip making skills and plaiting a nice handle with a couple Spanish ring knots .....

Not bad! And yes, would be greatly improved in both the visuals and ergonomics departments with some sort of wrap applied to the grip. Facts!!! Just have not decided if I was to Wrap it with cordage or leather strapping, wrap it with a solid leather sleeve, Or plait it with leather lacing, or some ...

Hmmm... I like the idea of a hollow handled knife that could work as a spear when added to a walking staff, so clever :P Is the handle of the knife hardened, if not you could drill two small holes at each end, then rap a strip of leather round and pin it on I it was admittedly an impulse buy... Bra...
