Well, how about a frog for your axe, or even attaching the axe directly to the sword sheath? I know a lot of people like the PJ Strider sword with the knife on the scabbard. I did actually try it, and no luck at all. One of the blades (Reaver Cleaver) has a lot of raw metal on the back, but even then no luck.
