Re: MERF Random Adventure Pictures
Those are great. I like the dark forest; I think I will have to make it my background image on my desktop.

Garden of the Gods is a great place. Lots of other great places there. Best place to be a Ranger.

Re: Says my IP is blacklisted…anyone know why that happens?
I’ve tried to post several times from my laptop at home over the last couple of weeks and every time that’s happened I am kept from posting and told my IP is blacklisted. Anyone know why that might be happening? I’m posting from my phone rn in the hopes that it will get through, but this forum is n...

Re: Leather Wrap Gaunlets.
I have carried LARP weapons before, until an incident where armed police got called out because a teenager was out for a walk in a local park with a LARP sword and someone saw and thought it was real, so while not against the law it's best not to tempt fate. and as for the second half of your quest...

Re: Leather Wrap Gaunlets.
Don't ever use your sword to process fire-wood or as a camp tool. Not unless you wish to ruin the blade beyond repair or at the very least to spend hours upon hours honing it again. My point exactly. Iodo left out the weapon, but maybe she intended to use the axe to intimidate the enemy into submis...

It looks cool Maybe you can improve on that design. I hope the person in those photos knows he has a major artery right there.

Re: Leather Wrap Gaunlets.
I think the perfect number for the fantasy adventurer context is three, you want something big and choppy, like a seax, that can handle processing fire wood (or you can use an axe/hatchet/tomahawk instead), you also want a 4-5'' fixed blade camp knife, to make food prep and intricate tasks easier, ...

Now you're talking.redhandfilms wrote: ↑Mon Nov 14, 2022 12:46 pm You mean you don’t want to give Aragorn an AR-15?! Haha.
So, since this cloaked worked so well, I think I’ll go ahead and make one out of “Mossy Oak Bottomland” camo, line it for a bit more warmth, and waterproof to give myself a proper modern hunting cloak.

Re: On How Strictly the Society's Standards Are To Be Adhered To
Fact is, most people can't tell the difference without looking at a tag sewn on the inside. Cotton is a cheap material for the modern day peasants. Wool and Linen are superior in almost every way, but if cotton is what you have, I doubt anybody will say anything.

Re: MERF Random Adventure Pictures
This may be a bit too modern. Haha. My cloak and leather wrap gauntlets go great with modern hunting gear. Not just worn for a picture. I’ve been hunting all afternoon in this and will again tomorrow morning. I personally always mix the old and the new. It's not so much that I want to adopt the new...

Re: (Re)dressing a Beorning - or, 'Aistan 2.0'
I think it looks fantastic. Direct and to the point, it's exactly what I like, with just enough highlights via color contrast and simple fringe and will be easy to modify and accesorize with under shirt, jergen, cloak, belts, boots, etc.
