Re: Gah! What're y'all using for archery targets?

I use a Wal-Mart dog food bag, stuffed full of Wal-Mart and other plastic grocery sacks. Just keep packing them in there until you reach the desired density, leave enough room at the top to tie the big bag shut and tie it off to a stake.. Very cheap, recycled materials, holds up very well.

Re: Field tools vs. weapons: how much do you specialize?

In the 1830's there was the Rio Grande camp knife. It was meant to be a knife and hatchet in one, and having owned one it serves both purposes. There were also the large Hudson Bay camp knives of earlier periods, which Condor makes a nice reproduction I have pondered on getting. So, I think your ide...

I'm in. Persona I haven't really settled on a background yet. I am working on a Woodman and Hobbit impression. I like to keep my impressions in the middle ground, nothing fancy. Skills Simple but functional leather work like pouches, bags, sheaths, and belts. Sewing, I make pretty much all of my own...

Re: I'm going on an adventure! Lots of pics added!

Well, I'm back. We had a great time and had some great experiences. I often felt like I could have been walking through the Shire, or other parts of Middle Earth. We stayed in buildings that were 500 years old, crossed Roman bridges, and saw many other ancient sites. The people of Galicia really emb...

Re: I'm going on an adventure!

I am now one week into my journey. I have spent a couple of nights in centuries old buildings, including one that contained walls originally built by the Knights Hospitaler. I have attended a mass in a 500 year old church, walked among ancient hedgerows, and crossed a bridge built by the Romans. Oft...

The Eagle and Child was the real name.

Would Elves need flint and steel?
