small natural sharpening stone

Post by herbcraft »

Hey... looking for a small, NATURAL sharpening stone to be easily carried for knife sharpening.

Kinda like a scythe sharpening stone...

but smaller (I already have one of these and they're a bit bigger than I want to carry).

Seems like all the smaller ones I find are diamond or ceramic.

Jelldragon.com would be my go-to.

https://jelldragon.com/products/banded- ... whetstone/ Is one example...I have a similar Arkansas stone and a similar Jasper stone from them. The jasper can literally put a mirror on an edge.
Now the sword shall come from under the cloak.

Coming in late, but Medivalcraft.eu carries a similar thing, but with and without a carrying ring:

-or-
https://www.etsy.com/shop/Medievalcrafteu

Lots of other nice things to. :)

EDIT - one thing to consider is that a wanderer might well have a re-purposed tool from the farmstead.
That is - take a scythe stone and whack it in half.
