Old reenactor, new forum member intro
Hello friends,
My name is Steve and I’m Captain and founder of the middle earth reenactment group “Rangers of the North†here in Canada. Given that we’re in Canada and “north†we chose to portray the people of scattered and few rangers of Arnor.
My introduction is a long time coming as I’ve been a bit of a lurker of this forum for years. I know a few of our members are already on here and I thought that it’s about time I chimed in and said hi.
In looking around, I can see a lot of folks share the same dedication to reenacting the material culture of Middle Earth as we do. It fills my heart with warmth! Many of our members have been long time veterans of the flintlock era reenacting but as of 2014 we’ve diverted our attention to Middle Earth and created the R.O.N.
I’m looking forward to digesting the conversations here and contributing.

Welcome to the forum
Gimli: It's true you don't see many Dwarf-women. And in fact, they are so alike in voice and appearance, that they are often mistaken for Dwarf-men.

Thank you everyone! I have to say I'm pretty stoked to see this community so healthy. I know I've been lurking but recently I took a deep delve into looking at what other groups are doing and I'm really impressed. I'm also really impressed that so many of us have shared visions of this stuff.

The community is QUITE healthy, thanks to small groups like yours!
Middle-earth reenactment and trekking has made it this far because we've grown slowly on the foundation of being good people. You'll find nothing other than that here!

Also! I saw you guys posting about the “lembas†waybread you made recently on your Instagram page, and I wanted to encourage you to share it here too! We’ve had several great threads about “cram†and other sorts of hard-tack/biscuit-ish trail bread, and I know it’s a subject we all enjoy! Here’s a thread I started about it a while back, for example:
