I was there!!! It was a wonderful event. Although we mostly covered the Longsword basics I still learned a ton of stuff. I was most interested in the dagger work. My Sensei and another student from the Goju school I study in tagged along and picked up a thing or two. Now my Sensei wants to work out with SIGMA once or twice a month. We all had s blast and everyone there was super nice. I'm looking forward to the next event.

I've been reading and trying Vail's Ren & Med Dagger. Nicely illustrated with good explanations. From what I have heard from others, it does seem to focus in close contact, compared to modern knife fighting.

Wishing for complete financial independance to travel and study. A friend just went to Houston for the Fechtschule America 2011. Glad to hear you had a great experience.
