Smith's Knife for sale

Post by Eric C »

Okay, I have finally put out a new item from the forge. Here's a link to the pics on Photobucket:
http://s963.photobucket.com/albums/ae11 ... s%20knife/

Now for some info:

The knife is forged from a 110 log chain pin. One of the pics shows a link of the chain as well as a pin like the one this knife was made from.

Now for stats:
OAL: 10 1/2"
Blade length: 5 1/2"
Blade width: 1 1/4"
Blade thickness: 3/16"

Heat treated then tempered twice to a straw color. The steel is high carbon mystery steel.

Price $100 + shipping and paypal charges.

I can vouch for this one. I've already ordered one from him, and it is absolutely amazing. Hefty, good weight, razor sharp (done nicked my hands once or twice) and beautifully made. Definitely worth the money. :D

Earlier in my smithing attempts I had already failed miserably at forging a similar blade. Belbarad actually inspired me to try again. Thanks man. It is a lot of fun to watch this one form under the hammer.

Not a problem. :D I just picked up some leather from Tandy today and I'ma be making a sheath for it, too. I can't say enough good things about it.

I've still got this knife. I'm holding on to it until either a forumite picks it up or I get enough of a collection to set up a booth at a gun and knife show.
