very intresting article.
perhaps Tolkien got som insperation for his Elves from reading Norse mythology.
I say that because there are alott of stories involving both Dwarves and Elves. Hmm never know though.

Actually this isn't the first I've heard of this. My friend speaks both languages in question and has spoken of the similarities before.

Well hey, like my first mentor in linguistics told me "The key to linguistics is remembering that the human mouth can only make so many sounds, evne if it is a fairly decent array, and they won't all work for communication, at least not practically. Just find the similarities, because they will be in there, and you will pick it up much faster."
