Introductions: Brownl91
Hey Everybody,
I just signed up and I thought I should introduce myself. First some background. I live in Wisconsin and last year my buddy and I who go backpacking a lot together thought it would be cool to do it "ranger style." I made wool cloaks and we went on a weekend trek through the wilderness with just our cloaks and whatever we could roll in our bedrolls. No tents or sleeping bags.
It rained all weekend and the temps were at 25-33 degrees depending on the time. We trekked through swamp, blow down, tag alder crap, briars, and got soaked the whole weekend....All in all a great trip.
Since This trip i have not gone back even when i went camping last winter in -15 degree F weather i just brought an extra large bedroll with 3 wool blankets...though i did use a tent.
I grew up in a buckskinners reenactment group and I always was drawn to the 18th century long-hunters.
Here are a few pictures of my ranger set up. Most of it I made myself and the process has been going do to lack of time, funds, or resources.

Mae Govannen! Nice kit. Did you take a sword or bow on your hiking trips?

Mae Govannen Ranger! Very nice Kit!
LOVE NOT THE BRIGHT SWORD FOR IT'S SHARPNESS OR THE ARROW FOR IT'S SWIFTNESS, BUT RATHER LOVE THAT WHICH THEY DEFEND

Welcome Ranger.
In the darkest part of Sherwoods glade, in the thickest part of the wood, there are those who say, can still be seen, the ghost of Robin Hood.
