Well I went to the local leather shop to see what they had of curiosity and I see I am good to go If I need to buy leather as they nearly everything including spools of sinew thread and whole hides.
Alone a ranger travels unseen and unheard beware those of dark heart for you will sleep not in comfort while I walk.

What are you making from leather?
Personally, I'd avoid the artificial sinew - it doesn't look that much like sinew to start with, and over time the wax wears off and it looks like dental floss.
They should also carry linen thread - which will be perfect for the life of whatever you're making.
(If you want to go really hard core, just get the vegetable tan tooling leather in whatever weight you want your project to be, then wax or oil it to its final finish, depending on whether you want a garment-type leather or a harder sheath or pouch. )
