Gondorian Rangers

Post by Rifter »

I don't know if these lads have seen the forum or if they have been mentioned before but these folks have some nice costumes and look good in numbers. Everything happens more in Germany hey,

Very cool group! I've only looked through a few of their pictures, I love the "ranger camp" photos with all of their pup tents, lanterns, cauldron and weapon racks - though not very ideal for light trekking. I bet Europe has a lot more going on in the Tolkien world than what the US has to offer, very proud of their medieval roots and Professor Tolkien's works as most Americans are of our western/cowboy heritage.
...in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.

Agreed,

They go to the big LARP events there and while yes they are not historical, they do look fun and seeing a band of rangers with bows...I'd be scared to if I was an Orc and getting to be a character...which would be basically myself in a different time and place

Great photos. Makes me wish, yet again, that we weren't so spread out. I'd love to do a camp for a long weekend with a bunch of us. Nothing like passing on skills, stories, etc. in person.

Yeah, I've seen these guys before - very cool setup overall. I love what they do. In fact, I think we have at least one of these gentlemen on our forum somewhere. Can anyone confirm?

I believe they were French and these folks are in a German campaign.
I am Ringulf the Dwarven Woodsman, I craft leather, wood, metal, and clay,
I throw axes, seaxes, and pointy sticks, And I fire my bow through the day.
Come be my ally, lift up your mead! We'll search out our foes and the Eagles we'll feed!

Ahh that's unfortunate at least kit wise. From a LARP angle it would be a fun time

I enjoyed looked at the website galleries...I am going to start learning German so I can do Drachenfest and Mythodea whenever I move to Europe (Wife lived in England for 7 years and we see ourselves moving for ministry over there in the future).

Moo and hello!

Especially on great LARP-events you don't need to be able to speak german. There are many players from abroad and most of the time communication isn't much of a problem.

There also is a group of international, english-speaking LARPers who attend the DrachenFest and ConQuest of Mythodea -->

I've seen that page and vids from that group, if it does ever come to being that this ranger might trek across the wide sea to this event I'll be sure to contact them prior
