Right?! The fact that it's all selling at once suggests to me that either someone's fallen on hard times, or has gradually come to regret the purchase of that large a number of wall-hangers, nicely made or not.Ghostsoldier wrote:Yikes...for almost 2 million, he can keep all of it.

I... there's something like 85 pieces there.
You could dump TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS EACH into a bespoke, artisan-crafted rendition of EACH and EVERY item he's selling....
.... and pay HALF of what he's asking for a lot mostly made up of second hand wallhanger junk.
The price seems.... optimistic.

The more and more I re-read the books and the more I get into the practical world, the less and less I care about the New Line adaptation. The books are so much deeper and richer, I'd rather re-read them than watch the movies. This guy can keep his collection. Meh.
The music was good though.

I agree 100% with you Haradir but with the caveat that a few of the pieces from The Lord of the rings movie are actually quite good as far as historical weapons go.
Scrolling through that guys pictures you can easily see where the gear from The Lord of the rings ends and The Travesty.... I mean The Hobbit begins.
With Elleth's estimate of 85 items it breaks down to an easy 20k per piece.

But the white fury of the Northmen burned the hotter, and more skilled was their knighthood with long spears and bitter. Fewer were they but they clove through the Southrons like a fire-bolt in a forest.

I suppose I do admire Aragorn's Ranger sword and Andúril.

At this point, my personal taste in hilt furniture from the films pretty much only goes as far as Sting, which I felt was pretty well nailed, and the Rohirric pieces, which were beautiful and fit the culture. The rest fits in the context that the film's costuming and everything else puts them in quite well, and I enjoy them in that regard, but they don't belong in my mental image of Middle-earth anymore.

Yeah, same. The movies fit very well in their own "astethics" but do not fit my personal view of "Middle Earth".
