Renaissance Faire Rendezvous

Post by appalachianranger »

If there be any other rangers in my neighborhood interested in gathering and having a moot, there are two renfests nearby that I regularly frequent every year:
Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival
http://www.pgh-renfest.com/

and

Maryland Renaissance Faire
http://www.rennfest.com/

We have been considering attending the one near Gettysburg, PA because our road tends to lead there so often, so that's a possibility as well!
Just feel free to let me know on here if you are interested!

Of course, should you be headed through my neighborhood on I-68 or I-79 and wish to share a bit of Longbottom Leaf or some of Butterbur's Best, feel free to send me a PM and we will set something up!

I should be doing one of the two this year maybe both. I need to get garb and a few other things finished.

Well, dang, AR, you and I should really get together for...well, something or another... I work up in Washington and could actually drop by for lunch. I know, because I've done that. Granted, it was a quick lunch...

That would indeed be a good idea!
I am actually moving to Weirton over the next month, so naturally I-79 will lead me your way numerous times.

Coolness. I used to live just a bit east of Weirton. Got a friend who lives there who isa good archer. He also taught me to fletch. And he's amazingly good at finding things. Kind of how I ended up with a fistful of bows...

I have no bow yet, sadly.
My lady's uncle is an avid hunter, though, and has offered to teach me how to shoot like a pro.
Perhaps the lot of us rangers could go out and do a bit of target practice sometime.

That would be cool, a squad of rangers at the...er...range.

If we get a chance to link up, I might be able to find you a bow that you can use until you get one of your own. As I said, I've got a few... Hmm, might depend on what you an draw, though.

I did the Pittsburgh Renfest last year, first time in ages. It hasn't changed much, lately.

Haven't been to the MD Renfaire since Boromir was a Lance Corporal.

Funny that you mention this just now, I was invited to go up to the Maryland RF by my Sister who lives just west of Annapolis, just this morning! I think I am going to plan on it so Brandwyn and I can make it.

We wanted to scope out some of the crafting and merchanting opportunities and now the possibility of a moot would be great!

I will keep you abreast on the dates we may be up there and you folks do the same!

I plan on visiting the MD faire in October this year, hopefully for the entire weekend. It's one of the biggest on the east coast, so it takes more time to do everything.

As for Pittsburgh, hopefully I will make it there at least a few times before the season ends at the end of September. Since I live relatively close to it, I will likely come for one day at a time.
