Ringulf's Axes, Seaxes, and Pointy Sticks

Post by Ringulf »

Greetings Rangers!

I am starting to "gear up" and build inventory as Lady Brandwyn and I are setting our goals to be merchanting by spring. I will use this thread to keep you all informed of what we have to offer.

Most of what will be here will be hand crafted by us or folks from our Shire in the SCA. Anything that has not passed through our hands for modification or embelishment, will have been tested, used and recomended by us.

Customization is normally fine and encouraged and will be handeled on an individual basis at reasonable prices.

Shipping will also be arranged on an individual basis as we are rather new at this yet so bare with us.

Most importantly we want you to be happy and satisfied and we would love your input as to what things may interest you that you don't see here, and what suggestions you have for improvement of what you do!

With Gratitude,
Ringulf "Tvier Ox" Haakonson
Tolkienly known as: Ringulf "Two axe"

Wow who is this mystery Rangeress? I am excited to see anyone's ideas when it comes to the series. There are so many thoughts on what Flanigan is describing, and his vageries increase all of our attempts to come up with what we think is right.
So I feel like all of us who are fans are in it together so we may as well share and discuss!

I will get the set out soon I was throwing this weekend what I felt was a great representation of the RA throwing knife but honestly the thing that has been slowing me down is I was looking into doing the leather ring handles like a Kbar would have, the shaping smoothing and finishing is a process that can be fairly crucial to the design.

I have been working on one of the 18" cs seax blades as it was the first to draw blood. We killed a Pigmy Rattler on the Archery range with it and now it has a name and heritage. "Ormbani" is getting a carved handle and matching scabbard!

You'll also have to keep in mind the legality of importing/exporting with some of our members as I know getting some bladed items into th EU can be nigh impossible.

Good point Johnathan, I had not thought of that! Shadowshutter will have to do some investigation to find out what the current law level and restrictions might be as the onus is on the purchaser as I understand it.

I'll be in Augusta Maine for pretty much all of 2012. Working with the Maine Energy Education program. Teaching groups about energy, and energy conservation.

any idea on prices for the heads?

And because its never too late: "Pointed sticks! Oh Oh Oh We want to learn how to defend ourselves against pointed sticks do we?!!"
