Introducing the Castaway Trading Co!

Okay, so I've debated whether or not to put this up here since I got on the boards, but I think I will, because I'm shameless :P

Mainly I debated it because most of the things we sell aren't very ranger/middle-ages related, but are more at home in the 18th century, or in whatever strange universe Steampunk falls into. However, we DO have a few things that may very well be of interest to the folks on this forum, and I know there are a few around here who are also interested in later periods, so this may actually be of some interest to you kind folks!

Without further ado, I would like to introduce the Etsy shop I run with my girlfriend: the Castaway Trading Co.

http://www.etsy.com/shop/CastawayTradingCo

Right now we're doing a Black Friday sale that will last all weekend long. All you have to do is type in "YARRR" at checkout to receive 20% off your purchase.

While, as mentioned, most of our items are in fact pirate related, we also have some very nice pouches that may suit the purposes of a ranger:

http://www.etsy.com/listing/87092161/bl ... -made-from

http://www.etsy.com/listing/83413128/bl ... ouch-large

And our belts, while being based on a more piratey look might also fall well into the ranger category:

http://www.etsy.com/listing/86101557/le ... atural-tan

And beyond that, we've got a several small bottles - perfect for carrying that little bit of intoxicating libation, or other specialty beverage, or even things like potions, herbs, etc.

So I hope you guys will take a look! We plan to have a lot more up in the near future too, so keep your eyes peeled!

Cheers!

Why thank you! :D
The bottles are definitely some of our more popular items, and some of my favorites too.

I also forgot to mention that a lot of the leather we use is actually upcycled overstock leather from the Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise. A gentleman who works with us has his own eBay business buying and selling movie props and costumes, and one of the things he got recently was a huge shipment of leather from Disney, that was overstock or scrap from the costume department, so we've been converting it into some new and interesting pieces!

We're putting up a ton of new stuff for the Holidays, so I just thought I'd spread the word a bit!

We've got some excellent new pouches:

http://www.etsy.com/listing/88691755/bl ... ouch-large
http://www.etsy.com/listing/88768188/bl ... ouch-small
http://www.etsy.com/listing/87399021/re ... small-made
http://www.etsy.com/listing/87092836/br ... ouch-small

As well as a new baldric, which is probably my favorite new item:

http://www.etsy.com/listing/88691078/le ... dark-brown

And our newest item, which I'm quite proud of, a neat aged leather wrist cuff:

Lots of these would be great for rangering, or at least some form of cosplay/reenactment, so I figured they'd be right up the alley of most folks here.

Cheers!

Got a new belt pouch up as well as a new bottle! The bottle is in an olive-green color, so I thought it might just interest some here:

Yet another new belt pouch is up! And this one's a big'n! I've also got an idea to start hand-sewing drawstring coin purses based on an actual medieval find. I use the same soft leather as our other pouches, and sew them by hand with waxed linen thread. I'll post a picture of my first one as soon as I can (that one's for me though, heh).

Anyway, here's the new pouch we DO have up:

And we've got a couple smaller ones on the way, including a super-small dark-brown lambskin one that's perfect for the ranger who wants to carry a sharpening stone, fire-striker, or other small device! Keep an eye out!

Hi again folks! Just bumping this thread to show off my newest little pouch on the ol' Etsy store! I think you guys will really like this one! It's 100% hand-stitched with waxed linen cord, and features an antler button closure! Perfect for the ranger who needs to carry a few small sundries on a trek!

We're going to be doing a lot more hand-stitched items like this, and we're also veering in a slightly more medieval/fantasy direction lately (as opposed to the general castaway/pirate theme we've had going so far), so keep an eye out!

Thanks! I like how it came out a lot. The pictures don't really do it any kind of justice. Gotta get a few new ones, and a couple of me wearing it. That might show it off a bit better. I really think it's perfect for someone on here.

Just a reminder to any newer rangers who may be looking for accessories to complete their kit - the Castaway Trading Co has been cranking out pouches like crazy lately!

We've still got the one mentioned above (and, I might add, one of my personal favorites):
https://www.etsy.com/listing/96337632/r ... uch-medium

And then we have several other varieties, including these coin purses, which are based on a real pouch from the High Middle Ages, now housed in the Museum of London:

And

And then this basic belt pouch:

As well as some flat, or 2-piece belt pouches/wallets:

Keep an eye out for more coming soon! We've got lots of new stuff on the way! And if there's any small ranger-related item you need, feel free to run it by us and we'll let you know if we can make it!

Also, this little guy, which is another coin purse based on the museum find, but this one is more accurate to the size of the original:
