My latest Bow...

Post by Cinead »

Here is a pic of the latest bow that I made for this fall to hunt with...

Pulls 60# at my 25" draw length.

Hickory backed Ipe with a sliver of oak to build up the handle.

Stonedog,

It is beautiful. I like the colour. Did you reverse wrap the reverse wrap the string? How many fibers do you have there?

All of my strings are made using two lays with 8 strands per lay.

I always make flemish strings....one end with a loop and the other with e bowyer's knot.

Gorgeous! I love how rustic and worn-in it looks.

I'm kinda-sorta in the market for a longbow. Would you do a commissioned bow, perchance? If you're up for it, we'll take it to PM's.
Now the sword shall come from under the cloak.

Lovely bow there. :) I haven't made one although I'm tinkering with the materials for composite bows and hopefully one of these days I'll have a go (or several more likely).

Great inspiration!
