Hi all,
I wasn't sure quite where to drop this link, but for those of you who have followed the amazing journey of the Staffordshire Hoard, from its discovery in an English field to being cleaned and presented to the public, here is an article about three silver pommels, each heavily ornate and set with glass and stones, harkening back to the Professor's own professional and private interest in the times of the Anglo-Saxons that so influenced his descriptions (however fleeting and vague they may be!) of items in Middle-earth. Enjoy!

"Well, what are you waiting for? I am an old man, and have no time for your falter! Come at me, if you will, for I do not sing songs of dastards!"
