RA Seax/Throwing Knife Combo

It's been a LOOONG time since I ventured on these forums. Life came up and a few personal issues that I'm trying to deal with have distracted me from a lot of things but! I've finally made some progress on my Ranger's Apprentice themed ranger blades. Now they still have a bit of a journey to go but at least they look like knives now! Here's the pic

cool! Welcome back!
And wow - ambitious! I assume the leather on the handles gets impregnated with something, then carved or turned down like wood?

I plan on epoxying it on once I have the seax hardened and tempered, as well as final sanding/polishing of everything. Then I'll glue on the leather discs, pound on the pommel and peen the tang. Then Ill shape the leather with a sander and apply a stain and a finish
