Looking for a cheap period phial?

For those who haven't yet seen the Fall 2016 MERS newsletter I wanted to share this neat discovery - small stoneware vials perfect for a cordial or other small amount of liquid. All they need is a cork or carved wooden stoppel -

19th century inkwells! They're all over eBay for around $10 each, or around $50 for a set like this -

Sometimes they're a little chipped, but they work wonderfully!

I used the smallest in my set as a cordial vial - it's a bit fat to fit perfectly in my needwallet, but is a wonderfully cheap interim solution:
