It seems to me this armour would be ideal for a ranger light and strong, and really cool looking

Lacquered leather Armour.
As deer skin is relatively easy to procure and fairly decent beef rawhide is available in the form of unflavored dog chews, has anyone given any thought to a deer skin covered Brigandine cuirass using lacquered rawhide plates?
