An interesting video from a professor of Norse mythology, with a reading of the "catalogue of Dwarves" from the Völuspá, wherein you might recognize a few names!
I recommend taking a look at the rest of his channel as well, a very good resource.

Neat!
I've been looking at a lot of his rune stuff lately, but missed this.
Very very cool.

I really enjoy the Jackson Crawford video's on Norse mythology.....it is interesting how much Tolkien drew from the old tales.
In the darkest part of Sherwoods glade, in the thickest part of the wood, there are those who say, can still be seen, the ghost of Robin Hood.

Wow! Great find, definitely need to check out his channel. I loved hearing such familiar names and titles, shows how grounded in history Middle Earth really is (in certain ways).
I wish only for green trees, cool wine, a strong bow, and a swift arrow

Wow, I took a while to get around to this post! I found the "Catalogue" a while back when I was doing the research to support the Norse view of Dwarves and their relationship to Norse society for some persona work in the SCA. His (Prof. Tolkien's) dwarves were based on much of the Norse and some of the Germanic lore, I was surprised but enjoy the fact that some Hebrew influence was included as well. That is also a very rich culture that one can draw upon for Dwarven Persona research.
I am Ringulf the Dwarven Woodsman, I craft leather, wood, metal, and clay,
I throw axes, seaxes, and pointy sticks, And I fire my bow through the day.
Come be my ally, lift up your mead! We'll search out our foes and the Eagles we'll feed!
