Unfortunately I think the other sapling has died. Maybe too early to tell but I think it is so. Bummer. Poor little fellas.

Thank you Elleth
it is a bummer. Oh well maybe we'll try again. Maybe get some that are older and stronger?

Yes, try again, don't give up! We had a grape vine die in our garden but the next one is thriving so far. Plant another tree and keep us posted! This earth needs more trees.

Ah, that's a sad day for sure. I look forward to hearing more about your next attempt. The world could always do with more trees in it.

ow no
yes, do plant some more
at the factory site where I work we've just planted lot's more trees (to replace the ones that fell in the storms if February), the company that provided them recommended that we go with trees that are a few years old (they are about 3 feet high already), because apparently that gives them a better chance

Ahhh no.
I opened this thread thinking I was going to see a fine young sapling but it's bad news.
As others have said, try try again. I just lost a particularly beautiful banksia in my garden and it sucks.

Not in any way trying to self-promote, but I literally JUST posted a how-to on planting trees on my homestead's Facebook page. You wouldn't believe how many trees that die prematurely do so because they weren't planted correctly (usually too deep, etc). Do a bit of reading, then try again!
