I agree with Taylor, very pretty indeed. What's your climate like? Where in middle earth is it likely to correspond to?

Well, that's a good question! Let's see, it's very mountainous but usually below the tree line. No snow and never freezing, the sun is quite hot but the breeze helps out a bunch. Our homes need no heating or cooling, a simple fan does enough. The roads and trails can be quite rough and many farms and houses are on steep ground. The forest is primeval and the clouds come over the mountains in the evening covering it in a dense fog. Normally things are damp and the trees are either live and healthy or rotten and breaking down, no preserved old hardwood for fires. The people are kind but usually don't venture far, most spend their lives in one town.

Perhaps the old forest near Bree? What do you think?

Wow, those old trees and the mist is just stunning, you are lucky to get to explore such a beautiful place :P perhaps the trees are not big enough but it looks almost like it could be Fangorn

Possibly, though the mountains don't ring true. It may be that you need to explore into an area that hasn't been heavily described in order to find a true match.

Is it humid there? I always assumed it was a humid jungle sort of deal.

Once you have an idea of the culture/status you want to portray it will be easy enough to sit down with a map and find somewhere that fits.

That's some pretty scenery! I love the mists. Looks relaxing, yet mysterious. I'd just love to wander those jungles.

Welcome!

... and that is just spectacular scenery. The stone roads are intriguing. Are they Spanish? Or earlier?

That spot was over 6000' up on a mountain and the road was to a small farm. My guess is that it's later than Spaniards but I don't know. It's really wet that high up and they used to use Ox carts all the time, so roads like this were very valuable!

Very nice pictures! It's a little New Worldy with the tree species but those photos of the forest in the fog definitely put me in mind of Mirkwood. It's not an exact 1:1 but it's the first thing that came to mind. The mountainous regions could stand in for the Mountains of Mirkwood. And I could absolutely see that cobblestone road standing in for the Old Forest Road. Just need a very lost party of Dwarves and one bedraggled Hobbit.

So perhaps a Woodman or a Beorning? If you want to go fancy, a Silvan Elf? Maybe a Second Age Dwarf?

Wow! How absolutely gorgeous!
Yeah, in terms of an exact Middle-earth analogue you might have a little trouble finding something, but that’s not a huge issue really. Perhaps somewhere in or around Harandor/South Gondor? Or even a region of Near Harad? Could be inter-sting to explore what happened in these regions after the fall of Sauron, when his influence presumably left those lands for good.
