The advantages of a two-strap backpack system are numerous. I have a 3-strap system where all the weight's still on one shoulder...you have to use it often for it to be comfortable. Your shoulder DOES ache after awhile unless you make the strap nice and wide, pad it a bit, and wear it often so you're used to it.

Thank you, that was alot of fun to make and a pain to sew lol I am not sure of the weight, as I pieced it together from scraps, I would say sheath weight leather? I am terrible at guesstimating leather, anyone have any ideas?

for a simple estimate of leather weight, try using some US coins!:
A dime = 3 oz
A penny = 3.5 oz
A quarter = 4 oz
A nickel = 4.25 oz

That is a handy bit of info, thanks Udwin! After getting some coins, I'd say that the scrap leather that I used is around nickel weight, 4.25oz.

Really love the way your packs look. I think I will copy you on the leather pack and snap sack. I've been using a tumpline with a handmade leather fanny pack attached to my waistbelt but would like to have more room and this seems the answer - esp. for longer hikes. Do you have any ideas on suspension with the quiver?
