Greetings for Northern Illinois
Greetings for Northern Illinois
Hey everyone! I was lucky enough yesterday to pass by this sight and I saw how amazing this was! I might be one of the youngest members here (14,almost 15) but Ive loved Lord of the Rings and Rangers for most of my life. I have an outfit and a sword as well as a recurve bow. I really hope Ill be able to do some of this stuff someday.

Greetings Elevorn, one of our youngest Rangers, from one of our oldest Rangers! I first read the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit when I was about your age, but there was nothing around as awesome as this forum! Please tell us all about yourself.

Welcome, welcome!
I quite agree with Kaelln, do tell us about yourself some. We'd love to hear about you.

Thanks for all the kind greetings everyone! Sadly though since school started, being a Ranger has been put on hold.

Hail and well-met, Elevorn!
You seem to be at the magic age for reading Hobbit and LOTR, as I was around your age for both. Remember, we are Rangers no matter what strange garb we happen to be wearing at the moment hope to hear more from you soon!

Greetings!
I just discovered this wonderful forum about a week ago, myself, and I already love the community. I am also quite a young Ranger of only sixteen years. Glad to have you with us.

This is GREAT! I am glad to see some younger folks joining us. I hit 40 earlier this year and got into this at more than twice your ages. I wish I had been able to do it when I was younger. The things I could know by now! You are both at a very good age to learn. Do well in school and take time to learn the skills of a ranger.

Welcome, welcome! I suddenly feel REALLY old, though...and I know I probably shouldn't (and may have gotten some e-dirty looks just now...) *chuckles*

Try taking a hike! No summer cold would stick around for that kind of torture!
Hope you're feeling better, back on your feet, and back in the woods soon!

Re: Greetings for Northern Illinois
Going outside and doing Ranger things would be very hard for now since I've started school. The other problem is that the only place up here to go is the forest perserve and I know they wouldn't let me bring a sword and bow into there.

Re: Greetings for Northern Illinois
Just a suggestion, when dealing with places like forest preserves and such:
Grab a pocketknife and a belt pouch, and go out in jeans and a t-shirt/sweatshirt. Practicing your skills doesn't require being in kit, carrying your bow, or even your sword. Feel free to get out there and enjoy nature in whatever you've got. In the "Then and Now" thread, you might note that I'm in Jeans and a T-Shirt (plus a cloak) in over half of my photos. Whatever you've got is plenty good enough!
