New Sword & Dagger Frogs

A central place to talk about weapons and armour, as it relates to your kit. This is where you show it of or talk about making it. Discussing the relative merits of types of weapons goes in the WMA section.

New Sword & Dagger Frogs

Post by Greg »

Finished these the other day. I'm tired of my old cobbled together setup with my sword creaking all the time, and my dagger's been stuck into my belt for the last while, which is awkward and doesn't stay well. These new ones are made from scraps leftover from my bracers.

The solutions:

They look good! Are they a pretty tight hold, they seem to be from the pic?

I actually stitched them slightly smaller than they needed to be so that they wouldn't let go while walking/running/etc. Getting the sword into the frog especially takes a bit of elbow grease.

I was thinking the same thing when I saw his post. Just didn't want to say anything hehe.

If you're referring to the Frogs, R.D., thanks! I've since then traced a border on them with my woodburner, and they look much cleaner.

Well I sure wasnt talkin about the DVDs  You do some neat work, Greg 8) I would like to see the burned lines tooled or burned borders look awesome on rough out leather That very thing was what I first noticed on a McCall saddle and I've admired the looks of ever since.

Only picture of it I have handy right now; see top left corner. I oiled the frogs after burning the borders and taking those initial pics, and that seems to have permanently darkened them, but I like it.
