GDT and the Hobbit in the NYT

Hi all,

Here is an excellent article concerning GDT and his life, and a brief section on some of his Hobbit ideas that I don't think will make it to the screen. Enjoy!

Thank God he abandoned the idea! It wold just have been an absolute nightmare! I am lost for words...

especially the idea of not using actuall trees on set, that would have been horrible

Del Toro is brilliant in his own way, but I agree that his artistic tendencies are probably a little dark and abstract for the Hobbit.

That is rather disturbing. I'm glad he's off the project.
