Hi Everyone:

I pm'd the mods with this and the response I rec'd was favorable so here goes:

By now most of you are aware of "The Rangers" independent film. The projected film is in the money collection stage:

I thought we as a group could collect money and sent it on.

The specifics are as follows:
1) Anyone who would like to contribute will pledge a dollar amount via pm to me.
2) I will collect the funds via: checks Money orders, or Paypal (preferred) I will cover any fees
3) I will forward the funds (donated by Middle Earth Ranger Forum ) on to the site
4) The above mentioned site indicated gifts based of the dollar amount pledged- These gift/prize would then be given to one lucky forumite via a drawing (each dollar a member pledges would be one chance to win).
5) Should the movie not be realizied due to insuffiencent collection, the funds, if collected would be returned to the forum members.
6) All pledges must be made by April 5 with collection shortly thereafter. The pledge date of April 5,2014 is in order so we can relay the pledges to the collection site.

We can list individual contributors here or you can remain anonymous

The benefits for handling donations this way would be: a higher level gift, satisfaction of working as a group and the Forum would be mentioned in the movie credits as a contributor (thus giving the Forum more visibility)

Pledges should be in dollar increments

If anyone has any questions or needs clarification don't hesitate to ask.

I'll kick it off with a $25 pledge.

The Ranger Film is an indy film that is looking for funding. I've attached two of the threads that will explain it in depth.

Wow! This is truly cool, if you fellow Rangers do pool your funds and and the Kickstarter is successful I will personally think of some cool MERF rewards for the forum member contributors.

This reminds me- I think it would be great if someone with more skill and time than me were able to put all the photos like this into one file. I can't get enough of seeing folks in Middle-Earth gear in wilderness backdrops. This photo, in particular, makes me think of the Hildebrandt brothers' Gimli.

You may or not be allowed to enter, there were some requirements build in initially so we wouldn't end up with spam or porn.

Just pm or post your pledge here, I'll add the pledges together and forward one pledge to their website with the ME Ranger Forum as the donor.

Funds will only be collected and forwarded to them if they meet their minimum to go ahead with the project.

I would really love to participate in this concept - I think it's a really phenomenal idea - but I am just way too stinking broke at the moment. Dangerously so, even. But I'm eager to see the results of this little experiment.

Also, apropos of nothing, this whole "The Rangers" fundraising campaign makes me want to start a Kickstarter ccampaign for that "Night at the Prancing Pony" idea we were tossing around a few months back.
