Greetings!
Forgive me if this is not the proper place to post this; this is my first post here and I wanted to share a little about myself.
Greetings!
My name is Evan. I have been an avid fan of Tolkien’s writings since I first read The Hobbit (at least a decade ago), and I’ve been a fan of Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings films for as long as I can remember (I am 23); The Hobbit films less so.
I discovered this forum by way of the Middle-earth Reenactment Society, which I stumbled upon by chance browsing Instagram. The idea of actually living out a Middle-earth persona instantly piqued my interest.
I am now, thanks to the helpful information on this forum and some other places, in the beginning stages of assembling a Dúnedain kit for trekking. A Dwarf would have been my first choice but since I am tall and skinny, I don’t think I would have made a very convincing Dwarf
All that said, I hope to learn much from everyone here and to contribute something meaningful to the group!

Hail Evan, welcome to the forums.
But the white fury of the Northmen burned the hotter, and more skilled was their knighthood with long spears and bitter. Fewer were they but they clove through the Southrons like a fire-bolt in a forest.

Gimli: It's true you don't see many Dwarf-women. And in fact, they are so alike in voice and appearance, that they are often mistaken for Dwarf-men.
Aragorn: It's the beards.
