There is a Ranger Moot planned for October down in South Caroline. My lass is putting in for some vacation over that period. If she gets it, if the van is still in good shape, and assuming finances don't take a huge hit, well, we might just manage to visit the southern lands for a little time. I have not been down that way in a long span of years. It would be good to meet some other Rangers...it is very quiet up here in Rhovanion. Traveling down to Gondor and Ithilien, that could be a pleasant thing. Perhaps bring a lyre, or a harp, or both. Maybe the needful things for crafting arrows and even my bowyer's bench.
We are the Forandiri...the North Wanderers. Traveling into the southern lands in my favorite time of year could be a grand thing, aye it could. Granted, I'd bring a 14.5' diameter pavilion...
We shall see. If we can, we will. If not, then there will be other times and places. With the children all grown we are a touch freer to do things over distance. Material world commitments allowing, naturally.

Re: Possibilities...
I would love to be able to fit this into my schedule, but with a first grader and third grader, it's unlikely.
I have family in both North Carolina and South Carolina I would be able to visit on the way there or back.
I'd also love to host something Rangers at the Dragons Wood Inn this fall or winter, but I only ever get a lukewarm response when I propose an event. The Inn itself can sleep about a dozen, and I can't imagine more Rangers than that even showing up.

Re: Possibilities...
I had forgotten about the Dragons Wood Inn. Until very recently the ability to go much beyond my own region was essentially impossible. I am only just beginning to venture out again, now we have good vehicles, the children are grown, and things have settled some. I shall keep an eye out for doings.

When I think of when I was younger, and would make long distance drives on a wing and a prayer. My complaint was that I either had the money to travel, but no free time, or all the free time in the world, but no money.Eledhwen wrote:I had forgotten about the Dragons Wood Inn. Now, it's mostly about coordinating schedules, and how much travel can a couple of small kids take.
